Transition

Transition is a limited edition, hand numbered publication of photography and art that focuses on the lifestyle and cultural relationship skateboarding has within our community. Each copy of Transition also comes with two different individual risograph prints. 

 Through the chaos and confusion we stop to observe our surroundings. Our cities are filled with beautiful minds, stagnating systems and stimulating art. We transition from one space and time to the next through the lens of our streets. 

 The art of skateboarding takes place amongst the chaos of everyday life. Alleyways, footpaths, public and private space allow for exploration which gives skateboarding its energy. Dormant objects are turned into opportunities, spaces are reimagined in ways never intended and our streets are forever changing rapidly without a conscience.

 The inherent beauty and variety of characters breathe life into an otherwise banal existence. Odd stares, glares and cheers of delight give a city its character. Abandoned streets left exposed by a desire for dividends are scattered with misfits and opportunists. These are the true individuals that maintain the personality and excitement of our streets. 

 As we transition, let us pause and appreciate the colourful characters of our city, the noise of skateboards and the art that surrounds us.
